Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, ahead of his visit to the United States, told members of the military‑political cabinet that Washington is demanding the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, Syria, and Lebanon.
According to Report, citing Israel’s Channel 13, Netanyahu intends to oppose these demands.
“I will firmly resist. I will say no to them,” the channel quoted the prime minister as saying.
Earlier, Israel’s military‑political cabinet approved the operation of the Board of Peace in Gaza, initiated by US President Donald Trump, with only National Security Minister Itamar Ben‑Gvir voting against.
A political source stated that Israel’s principled consent to the deployment of the International Stabilization Forces (ISF) in Gaza was part of Trump’s 20‑point plan, which led to the release of all hostages.
According to the source, Tel Aviv insists on maintaining Israel Defense Forces (IDF) positions along the “yellow line” and will not withdraw troops until Hamas is fully disarmed and Gaza is demilitarized. At this stage, Israel is expected to include about 200 representatives from friendly countries such as Uganda and Morocco.
The cabinet also granted immunity to ISF participants under international law. The forces will operate outside IDF‑controlled areas, beyond the “yellow line,” but in coordination with Israeli troops.
Deployment of each ISF unit will require separate approval from the Prime Minister, Defense Minister, and Foreign Minister. Only countries that have signed peace agreements with Israel and do not oppose it or its officials internationally will be eligible to send forces.
