Iran threatens offensive if US strikes persist

Tehran has warned that if US attacks against Iran continue for two to three more days, the country will shift from defensive operations to offensive actions, Mohsen Rezaei, military adviser to Iran”s Supreme Leader, said during a broadcast on Iranian state television, Report informs.

“If US strikes continue for several more days, we will move into a phase of full-scale offensive operations,” said Rezaei, who once served as the head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.

“Iran will no longer limit itself to retaliatory, like-for-like responses…and no political border will be safe,” he was quoted as saying by Iran’s news agency IRIB.

Rezaei emphasized that in such a case, Tehran would target not only US bases in the conflict zone but also those located beyond it.

Azerbaijan’s export structure is changing faster than ever

For more than three decades, one of Azerbaijan’s most important economic objectives has been reducing its dependence on hydrocarbons. Like many resource-rich nations, Azerbaijan has long exhibited the classic symptoms of the so-called “Dutch disease”—an economic phenomenon in which booming natural resource exports strengthen one sector while weakening the competitiveness of the rest of the economy. Diversifying both GDP and exports has therefore remained at the heart of the country’s long-term economic strategy.
