Widespread forest fires in northern and northeastern Algeria have killed at least six people and injured around 100 others, according to the country’s Interior Ministry, Report informs.
It was noted that over the past 24 hours, more than 100 residents of affected areas have been hospitalized, all reported to be in stable condition.
In recent days, more than 1,500 fire outbreaks have been recorded across northern Algeria. The blazes destroyed forest areas, palm groves, and farmland and damaged over 150 homes. Residents were evacuated in time.
Strong winds and temperatures above +35°C have made firefighting efforts more difficult.
As part of the U17 Wrestling World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan’s Olympic, World, and European champions will meet with fans, the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF) told Report.
According to the federation, during the Autograph Session, wrestling enthusiasts will have the chance to meet renowned athletes, receive autographs, and take souvenir photos.

A fire that broke out at a family home in Lima, Peru’s capital, left 10 people dead, including five minors, police said on Wednesday, Report informs via Reuters.
The fire broke out early in the morning at a house located in Lima’s La Victoria district. The incident is being investigated by forensic experts, Police Commander Oscar Arriola told reporters.
