Lindsey Graham died at age 71 from a ruptured aorta (aortic dissection), Mitch McConnell is recovering from a fall and pneumonia, and threats to political figures remain under investigation. Because of the timing of these events, many theories have spread online regarding potential coordinated attacks or foul play. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Current information on these incidents:
Sen. Lindsey Graham: Graham died of an aortic dissection. The District of Columbia Medical Examiner’s preliminary findings concluded the rupture was due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, a condition linked to high blood pressure and hardening of the arteries.
Sen. Mitch McConnell: McConnell was hospitalized following a serious fall at his home. He has also been treated for mild pneumonia. His medical team has explicitly ruled out tumors, hemorrhages, strokes, or heart attacks, attributing his fall to his post-polio condition.
Threats to Trump: Law enforcement agencies, including the Secret Service and the FBI, actively monitor and investigate ongoing threats against U.S. leadership.
Investigations: While official authorities investigate credible threats, the spate of health crises and tragedies among senior lawmakers has led to widespread speculation and conspiracy theories on social media. [1, 4]
