Azerbaijan will co-host the 4th Shamakhi Summit in July 2027 with Ethiopia, Report informs.
The move was announced at the 3rd informal meeting of the chairs of the negotiating groups of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the heads of delegations of several UNFCCC party states.
The meeting was held on July 22-23 in Shamakhi, organized by Azerbaijan and in cooperation with Türkiye and Australia, which hold the presidency of COP31.
The participants expressed support for transforming the Shamakhi Summit into a traditional platform, and the Ethiopian delegation, as host of COP32, which will take place in 2027, expressed its readiness to co-host the 4th Shamakhi Summit with Azerbaijan in July of next year.
