As part of the preparations for an international women’s humanitarian delegation to Baku to visit Armenian detainees, I have sent public letters to international and governmental bodies whose engagement may be essential to organising the visit and ensuring the safety of its participants.
The purpose of this initiative remains exclusively humanitarian: to meet with the Human Rights Commissioner of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to visit Armenian citizens held in Azerbaijan, and to deliver to them letters, photographs, and permitted personal items from their families.
This is why I believe it is important to act openly – through official diplomatic channels.

A new state program prepared for the development of tourism in Azerbaijan includes subsidy support for infrastructure projects, according to Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) under the State Tourism Agency, Report informs.
Speaking at the event, Unlocking Azerbaijan’s Tourism Potential for Economic Growth and Diversification, in Baku, the CEO mentioned that the program is in its final stage of government approval and aims to address key obstacles to tourism growth.
“The document envisages improving transport accessibility, introducing subsidy mechanisms for infrastructure development, etc.,” Sengstschmid noted.
He emphasized that tourism development cannot be limited to the work of a single institution, highlighting the need for coordinated efforts between state bodies and the private sector in areas such as roads, electricity, water supply, communications, and other infrastructure projects.
The main goal of the new program is to coordinate the activities of all stakeholders within a unified framework to ensure sustainable growth of the tourism sector.
One of the employees of the “Araratcement” plant told journalists that if the enterprise does not resume operations today, they will block the bridge in the village of Zod tomorrow morning.
“We will block it, paralyze the roads, just as they did with our homes,” he noted.
As a reminder, on the morning of July 6, searches were conducted at the private residence of Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the “Prosperous Armenia” party, at nearly all enterprises belonging to the “Multi Group” concern, as well as in the apartments of the directors of these organizations. The plant’s operations were suspended, and employees were sent home for an indefinite period.
