BMT İnsan Hüquqları Şurasına təqdim olunan yazılı bəyanatda Azərbaycanda həbsdə olan 9 qadın jurnalistin azadlığa buraxılması, “Abzas Media işi” üzrə çıxarılan hökmlərin ləğvi və qadın jurnalistlərə qarşı zorakılıq iddialarının müstəqil araşdırılması tələb olunub.
Bəyanatı BMT İnsan Hüquqları Şurasının 15 iyun–10 iyul 2026-cı il tarixlərində keçirilən 62-ci sessiyası çərçivəsində “Institute for Human Rights” təşkilatı təqdim edib. Təşkilat BMT-nin İqtisadi və Sosial Şurası yanında xüsusi məşvərətçi statusa malikdir.
Sənəddə “Abzas Media”nın baş redaktoru Sevinc Vaqifqızı, jurnalistlər Nərgiz Absalamova və Elnarə Qasımova, “Meydan TV” jurnalistləri Xəyalə Ağayeva, Aysel Ümüdova, Aytac Tapdıq (Əhmədova) və Aynur Elgünəş (Qənbərova), frilanser jurnalist Fatimə Mövlamlı, həmçinin jurnalist və qadın hüquq müdafiəçisi Ülviyyə Əlinin (Quliyeva) işi xüsusi qeyd olunub.
Bəyanatda bu işlərin Mülki və Siyasi Hüquqlar Haqqında Beynəlxalq Paktın azadlıq və toxunulmazlıq, ədalətli məhkəmə araşdırması, ifadə azadlığı və birləşmək azadlığı ilə bağlı 9, 14, 19 və 22-ci maddələri baxımından narahatlıq doğurduğu bildirilib.
Təşkilat hesab edir ki, bu həbslər Azərbaycanda müstəqil jurnalistikaya qarşı daha geniş təzyiq kampaniyasının tərkib hissəsi kimi görünür.

Abkhazia’s Dioskuri embankment
Abkhazia has reopened the Dioskuri embankment following a major renovation. The main waterfront promenade in Sukhum had not undergone a major upgrade since the 1950s.
The restoration was carried out with Russian support at a cost of more than 2.5bn roubles (about $32m).
The funding was shared between several Russian regions. Nizhny Novgorod financed the embankment’s dynamic lighting system. Krasnodar Krai will fund the reconstruction of the pier beside the landmark Brekhalovka café. Abkhaz businesspeople based in Russia also contributed to the project.
The renovated embankment stretches for 1,920 metres and covers an area of 13.7 hectares. The project was designed by the Russian architectural firm Wowhaus before being put to a public vote, where it received the backing of more than 12,000 residents.
