C-130 cut in pieces in the sky, fell to its demise returning from a parade in Azerbaijan
A Turkish Air Force C-130 military transport aircraft crashed in Georgia on November 11, 2025, after reportedly breaking apart mid-air and falling in pieces. The plane had departed from Ganja, Azerbaijan, and was en route to Turkey with 20 military personnel on board, all of whom were killed in the incident. [1, 2, 3]
The aircraft, a Lockheed C-130E Hercules, went down in the Sighnaghi municipality of Georgia, near the border with Azerbaijan. Eyewitness footage circulating online appears to show the plane spiraling as it fell with smoke gushing out, and separate pieces of the aircraft falling to the ground. [1, 2, 4]
The C-130 had been in Azerbaijan, and while it is not confirmed if the personnel on board attended a specific parade, Turkish officials had been in Azerbaijan for the country’s Victory Day celebrations a few days prior. Initial investigations are focusing on possible structural failure or mechanical issues, as no distress call was made and external factors like weather have not been cited as the cause.
