Masoud Pezeshkian, a reformist and former minister of health, won in the second round of the extraordinary presidential elections held in Iran.
“Masoud Pezeshkian received 16 million 384 thousand 403 votes, and Saeed Jalili received 13 million 538 thousand 179 votes,” said Mohsen Eslami, the head of the Electoral Commission of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Iran, according to the SNN agency.
In general, 30 million 573 thousand 931 people participated in the voting, 49.8 percent of voters in Iran.
President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi was a victim of a disaster on May 19. While returning from Azerbaijan, his plane was destroyed, in which the Minister of Foreign Affairs and other officials were also present.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a congratulatory message to Masoud Pezeshkian on the occasion of his election as the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The message says:

I am sure that thanks to the joint efforts of our governments, the agreements reached between the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran will be implemented, and we will jointly launch a number of new programs for the welfare of the friendly peoples of Armenia and Iran.”
