Serbia will remain militarily neutral, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated today at the graduation ceremony for the youngest officers of the Serbian Army, according to Report‘s Balkan bureau.
“In today’s era of tension and international lawlessness, when the UN Charter or resolutions either do not exist or are not applied, you are the guarantee of the safety of Serbian citizens. Serbia will remain militarily neutral and think of its own future, because whenever we have relied on others, we have seen that we were wrong,” Vučić emphasized.
Serbian leader believes that allied relations and cooperation are necessary, but Serbia must be strong enough to defend itself: “Kosovo and Metohija, according to the Constitution, are part of Serbia. We must not forget this, and we must protect those lands without touching anyone, without attacking anyone, and without threatening anyone.”
He stressed that alliances have been formed against Serbia in the region, and Serbia, understanding these messages, has begun to provide its officers with the best and most modern weapons and equipment.
