Poland has deployed additional police, border guards and counterterrorism units after intelligence warned that sabotage or an armed incursion could occur along the Russian border in the first half of November.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk said suspicious activity was detected overnight near the frontier, where people carrying flashlights were spotted, but authorities intervened before any possible provocation could take place.
He said officials could not confirm the group’s intentions with certainty.
