White House press secretary Katie Zacharia has been dismissed after less than a week in the role, following criticism of her first press briefing and questions over her legal credentials. Zacharia took up the position on Monday and held her debut briefing on Tuesday, which lasted just 15 minutes and included only three questions. She also faced scrutiny over her legal qualifications and professional background. Her departure is believed to mark the shortest tenure of any White House press secretary in history, leaving President Donald Trump without a key spokesperson just over two weeks before the November midterm elections.
