Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked voters for what he described as their “active participation” in the parliamentary election, saying high turnout showed Russians could not be intimidated.
Putin also said the vote was a sign of support for the country’s efforts and told Russian soldiers and commanders on the front line that “this vote is for you”.
