The U.S. has launched what it described as “powerful” strikes on Iran in response to attacks on three commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, which Washington blames on Tehran. The strikes came after three tankers were damaged over a 24-hour period, with no casualties reported, while Iran has not claimed responsibility for the incidents. Iran’s Foreign Ministry says Washington will be held responsible for ‘a breach of the memorandum of understanding’.
