Head coach of Azerbaijan’s freestyle wrestling team for athletes under 17, Haji Aliyev, said he expects every wrestler to achieve success at the upcoming U17 World Championships in Baku, Report informs.
While speaking to the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, Aliyev assessed the team’s preparation for the major competition:
“Our team has already held numerous training camps, including physical and tactical-technical sessions. The wrestlers have fulfilled the tasks properly, and I hope this will continue. The overall condition of the team is very good. The squad includes European champions and medalists. We are well prepared and I believe we will perform successfully at the World Championship. True, a few wrestlers have minor injuries, but I don’t think this will hinder them. The World Championships is always highly competitive, so it’s difficult to make predictions. I expect successful results from each of our wrestlers.”
The U17 World Championships will be held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku from July 27 to August 2.
