August Hanning: The Hamburg Cell would not be able to function as they did without some (German) State involvement. (Search denies this.)
Hypothesis: Carefully concealed help and training from German – Russian Intel Services bypassing Hanning.
The official version:
Germany did not provide state support to the Hamburg Cell.
Key Context
Independent Operation: The cell—led by Mohamed Atta and consisting of operatives like Marwan al-Shehhi, Ziad Jarrah, and Ramzi bin al-Shibh—radicalized privately (largely centered around the Al-Quds Mosque in Hamburg) and operated as an autonomous or semi-autonomous Islamist group before and during their recruitment into al-Qaeda. [1, 2, 3]
Intelligence and Surveillance Gaps: German authorities did not knowingly back or sponsor the cell; rather, pre-9/11 domestic intelligence and police surveillance failed to detect the group’s plotting. Investigators later noted that the cell managed to live, study, and plan largely under the radar as ordinary students and residents in Hamburg. [2, 4]
Post-9/11 Reaction: Following the attacks, the German government under Chancellor Gerhard Schröder pledged unconditional solidarity with the United States, launched crackdowns on extremist networks (including closing the Al-Quds Mosque), passed sweeping anti-terrorism laws, and expanded police and data-mining powers. FBI FAILED MISERABLY IN ITS INVESTIGATION OF 9/11!
#CIA CIA #FBI #Mossad Mossad
My opinion:
The 9/11 Commission failed because the FBI’s PENTTBOM investigation failed: it was not able to detect the true culprits and their operations.
By “true culprits” I mean the masterminds and the behind the scenes organizers, not just the foot soldiers – the hijackers.
It is impossible to take the “Al Qaeda” seriously.
