Three people in Bahrain have been sentenced to life in prison for spying for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Report informs via Al Jazeera.
The broadcaster reported, citing a statement by Bahrain’s prosecution service, that the three defendants had been accused of collaborating with the IRGC and its representatives.
According to the statement, the defendants were accused of working with the IRGC to support hostile and terrorist acts against the Kingdom of Bahrain and harm its interests.
Al Jazeera noted that Gulf states, which have borne the brunt of Tehran’s response since the start of US and Israeli military operations against Iran, have stepped up efforts against suspected IRGC-linked cells.
