Armenia-EU relations never been this strong – Nikol Pashinyan

The relations between Armenia and the European Union have never been this strong and deep, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a press conference today.

He voiced hope that several decisions will be made in the near future, which will reflect the strength of the relations.

He added, it’s not like there haven’t been such manifestations before. “The relationship is developing, it should have new manifestations and expressions. According to the Prime Minister, for example, one of those expressions could be the start of visa liberalization negotiations between Armenia and the EU. One of the next steps could be the granting of preferential trade conditions to products produced in the Republic of Armenia,” PM Pashinyan said.

“The next expression could be the deepening of our cooperation and relations in the field of security, also increasing the capacities of the EU civilian observation mission in Armenia, the decision to extend the mandate of EU observers for another two years, etc,” he said.

Armenia and the EU have a very broad agenda, the Prime Minister noted, adding that Armenia is ready to expand and deepen that agenda.
