The chairman of the Adjara government, Zurab Pataradze, together with the members of the government, held a working meeting with representatives of ministries and profile agencies, during which the situation in the seaside municipalities during the tourist season in Adjara and the planned measures were discussed.
The working meeting assessed the progress of the tourist season in the region, the dynamics of visitor streams and the situation in seaside municipalities. It was noted that Batumi, as one of the most important tourist centers of the country, as well as Kobuleti and Khelvachauri municipalities, host a particularly large number of visitors during the season.
Municipal services are working with double workload during the peak period of the tourist season; special attention is given to constant control of safety, cleanliness, and infrastructure along the coastline. Also, it was noted that it is important to monitor water quality regularly.
The issues of transport flow and parking management were also discussed at the meeting. In the wake of the increase in the population and tourist numbers, the important task was to conduct the following measures to maintain order in the city in the process of organizing mass events. Attention was also focused on regulating sporting infrastructure in the region and increasing its availability throughout the season.
In the field of tourism, the need to develop new projects and attract innovative offers was identified, which will contribute to the development of the region’s capabilities and, in general, to improving the quality of tourism services.
It was noted that relevant authorities continue to work in a coordinated manner to ensure that the tourist season in the region is run safely, organized and within high standards.
The meeting was held by Jaba Surmanidze, Ajara Minister of Finance and Economy Ednar Nataridze, Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Denis Salukvadze, Head of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Region Tinatin Zoidze, Director of Batumi Boulevard Archil Antadze, Mayor of Batumi Municipality Giorgi Tsintsadze, Kobuleti Municipality Mayor Irakli Tsetskhladze, Mayor of Khelvachauri Municipality Zaza Diasamidze, and representatives of the Adjara government.
