Widely read Kenyan news outlets Tuko, The Star and KBC, as well as a number of blogs, have published articles highlighting the dynamically developing relations between Azerbaijan and Kenya in recent years.
According to Report, citing the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Kenya, the articles emphasized the contribution of Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto’s visit to Baku to attend WUF13, as well as his bilateral meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
The publications also provided information on the results of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov’s first official visit to Kenya in 2025.
The articles highlighted the importance of priority areas such as oil and gas, energy, defense, trade, agriculture, digital technologies and sustainable urban development for strengthening cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kenya.
Existing ties in areas including parliament, the judiciary, prosecution services, the penitentiary system and humanitarian demining were also described as reflecting the two countries’ interest in comprehensive cooperation.
The publications also presented Azerbaijan’s humanitarian assistance activities in Kenya in the fields of education, youth development, culture and healthcare, including during Heydar Aliyev Foundation Vice-President Leyla Aliyeva’s visit to Kenya in December 2024 and through AIDA.
Educational scholarships provided to Kenyan youth under the Heydar Aliyev International Education Grant program were described as an important means of strengthening friendship and partnership between the peoples of the two countries.
