Ukraine plans on increasing its interception rate of Russia’s jet-powered Shahed drones. In his nightly address on Saturday (26 September), President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said its air defences are currently intercepting 55 per cent.
He says more than 1,500 were shot down after more than 2,730 were launched in September. Zelenskyy says Kyiv aims to raise the interception rate above 90 per cent.
