Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has called for Israel’s full withdrawal from Lebanese territory and a consolidated ceasefire, while insisting that weapons across Lebanon must be held by the state alone. Addressing the UN General Assembly, Salam also criticised the “selective application” of international law, arguing that sovereignty and international rules cannot be upheld in some countries while disregarded in others.
