A Palau-flagged civilian vessel was attacked twice by Russian forces on Saturday while leaving a port in Ukraine’s Odesa region, Report informs.
Ukrainian Restoration, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Nikolay Kalashnik wrote this on Telegram.
“The strikes on the vessel caused a fire. According to preliminary information, seven crew members and a Ukrainian harbor pilot were rescued. Two sailors are currently considered missing. A search and rescue operation is ongoing,” he wrote.
Kalashnik described the attack as a deliberate strike on civilian infrastructure and international shipping.
“Russia continues to show complete disregard for international law, posing a threat to shipping security, global trade and food security,” the minister stressed.
