US President Donald Trump has ordered American forces to halt strikes against Iran after nearly two weeks of daily attacks, Report informs, citing Axios.
The decision came as Omani officials held talks in Tehran and “some progress” was made toward a possible agreement on restoring shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
The United States and Israel launched an operation against Iran on February 28. In June, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding providing for an immediate halt to military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.
However, overnight on July 8, the United States resumed large-scale strikes against Iran, claiming that Tehran had violated the terms of agreements reached on the Strait of Hormuz.
