Russian strike on Togo-flagged ship kills three crew members, Ukrainian deputy PM says

Russian forces have struck a Togo-flagged merchant vessel, killing three crew members, Report informs.

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration Oleksiy Kuleba wrote about the attack on Telegram.

According to him, the strike occurred while mineral fertilizers were being unloaded.

“A fire broke out after the vessel’s superstructure was hit. Unfortunately, three crew members were killed and five other sailors were injured,” he wrote.

Kuleba said all those injured had been hospitalized. He stressed that such attacks threaten the safety of international shipping.

“Such attacks threaten the safety of international shipping, the stability of global trade and the world’s food security,” Kuleba said.

The deputy prime minister did not specify where the strike took place.
