Azerbaijan’s rich gas reserves play a significant role in ensuring Europe’s energy security. For a long time, the West, particularly Eastern European countries, was dependent on Russian gas for their energy supply. However, recent geopolitical changes, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and disruptions in gas pipelines through Ukraine have forced Europe to diversify its energy sources. In this context, Azerbaijani gas has emerged as a crucial alternative. Notably, the “Shah Deniz” field, one of the main supply sources of Azerbaijani gas, is among the best options for energy supply to Europe.
