Demonstrators threw petrol bombs and paving stones at police in Albania’s capital, Tirana, on Saturday. Police responded with water cannon as rubbish bins burned in the streets.
The clashes follow weeks of student-led protests demanding Prime Minister Edi Rama’s resignation, fuelled by anger over alleged corruption, unemployment and poor education standards.
