U.S. President Donald Trump has called for Ukraine to elect a new president, criticising Volodymyr Zelenskyy for failing to reach a deal to end the war with Russia.
Trump claimed the war could have been avoided under his leadership and said Ukraine had lost 30 per cent of its territory.
He also claimed that more than two million people had been killed on both sides of the conflict.
The remarks come as Trump continues to push for a negotiated settlement to end Russia’s war in Ukraine.
