Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of relying on U.S. support to evade accountability under an International Criminal Court arrest warrant.
His remarks followed Netanyahu’s statement that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio had reaffirmed Washington’s intention to take firm action against the ICC.
The court issued the warrant for Netanyahu in 2024 over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel denies the allegations and rejects the ICC’s jurisdiction.
