Ukrainian skeleton racer Vladyslav Heraskevych condemned the IOC’s decision to provisionally lift the Russian Olympic Committee’s suspension, calling it “absolutely shameful” while Global Athlete chief Rob Koehler also criticised the move, saying conditions in Russia had “only got worse” and urging the IOC to reverse its decision.
Heraskevych is an Olympian banned from the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games for donning a customised helmet with commemorations of Ukrainian victims in the Russia-Ukraine war.
