“There will be no dialogue” until Iran’s demands on “immediate cessation” of Israeli operations in Gaza and Lebanon are secured, it reported, News.az reports, citing Xinhua.

A ceasefire in Lebanon is one of Iran’s preconditions for accepting the April truce with the United States, but the truce has now been violated on all fronts, it reported.
It added that Iran and its allies have determined “on the agenda to completely block the Strait of Hormuz, and to activate other fronts, including the Bab el-Mandeb Strait,” in retaliation.
Earlier in the day, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said in a social media post that violating the ceasefire between Iran and the United States on any front equals violating it on all fronts.
Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said the U.S. anti-Iran naval blockade and Israel’s escalation of “war crimes” in Lebanon are “clear evidence of U.S. noncompliance with the ceasefire.”
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei told a weekly press conference that U.S. “new and contradictory” demands have prolonged the process of negotiations to end the war.
Iran and the United States reached a ceasefire on April 8 after 40 days of fighting. They then held one round of peace talks in Pakistan’s Islamabad on April 11 and 12, which failed to yield an agreement.
Over the past weeks, the two sides reportedly exchanged several proposed plans outlining conditions for peace through Pakistan’s mediation, and are working to finalize a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the war.
Israel and Lebanon reached a ceasefire in mid-April, despite which Israel has continued near-daily strikes in Lebanon, while Hezbollah has launched attacks on Israeli military positions.
On Sunday, Israel claimed having captured southern Lebanon’s Beaufort Ridge, including the strategic castle at its summit, an area beyond the “security zone” Israel has maintained since its ceasefire with Lebanon.
The move, which media reports called Israel’s “deepest advance into Lebanon” in over 20 years, was condemned by the Arab world, as well as France, Germany and Britain.
Earlier on Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said in a joint statement that they had ordered the military to strike Beirut’s southern suburbs, citing “repeated Hezbollah violations” of the ceasefire in Lebanon. Katz later vowed to turn the area of southern Lebanon’s Litani River into a military-controlled zone, and to continue striking Beirut until Hezbollah stops attacks.

Sonko said in a post on X that he met on Monday with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, his ally-turned-rival, and that “points of disagreement” emerged about the role of Pastef, which holds a large parliamentary majority, within the executive branch, News.az reports, citing Reuters.

Therefore Pastef “will not participate in the next government and will not be represented by any ministers,” Sonko said.”We wish the new team every success.”
Faye sacked Sonko and dissolved the government on May 22, then appointed seasoned economist Ahmadou Al Aminou Lo as a replacement.
Lawmakers rebelled against Faye’s decision last week by reinstating Sonko as a member of parliament and overwhelmingly backing him as speaker with the support of 132 lawmakers in the 165-member assembly.
The upheaval, following months of mounting tensions between Faye and Sonko, comes as Senegal tries to navigate economic woes stemming from the discovery in 2024 of misreported debt by the previous government.
The International Monetary Fund froze its $1.8 billion lending program with Senegal following the discovery of the debt, which pushed the country’s end-2024 debt level to 132% of its economic output.
Senegal expects to resume talks with the IMF next week and hopes to reach agreement on key points by June 30, the finance minister said last month.

New registrations of Tesla vehicles increased across several European markets in May, continuing a recovery trend in the U.S. electric vehicle maker’s sales in Europe, News.Az reports, citing Reuters.
Tesla registrations, which are used as a proxy for sales, rose year over year by 655% to 5,446 vehicles in France and by 29% in Norway to 3,345 vehicles, according to figures from Norwegian data compiler OFV and the French automotive body PFA, both released on Monday.
Growth was also recorded in smaller European markets. Registrations increased by 136% compared with the previous year to 1,750 vehicles in Denmark, by 113% to 1,690 vehicles in Spain, by 349% to 1,463 vehicles in Portugal, and by 71% to 858 vehicles in Sweden, according to data from bilstatistik.dk, ANFAC, ACAP, and Mobility Sweden.

In contrast, Tesla sales in Italy declined by 23.5% year over year to 654 vehicles. However, they still rose by more than 15% in the first five months of the year compared with the same period in 2025.
Overall, registrations of electrified vehicles in Europe increased by around 21% in April compared with the previous year, accounting for more than two-thirds of total vehicle registrations. This growth has been driven by policy support, subsidies, and higher fuel costs encouraging consumers to shift toward lower-emission vehicles, according to data from the European automobile industry association ACEA.
Although Tesla’s market share continues to decline, its sales are benefiting from strong overall expansion in the battery electric vehicle segment, particularly in Scandinavia and from a catch-up in markets such as Spain, said Rico Luman, senior economist at ING Research.
Data for Britain and Germany, Europe’s largest car markets, are expected to be released later this week.
Tesla, the world’s most valuable automaker by market capitalization, has lost nearly half of its European market share in 2025. This decline has been attributed to increasing competition, particularly from Chinese manufacturers, a lack of new model releases, and reactions to CEO Elon Musk’s political stance.

Many of the demonstrators are young Kenyans who say it is not right for their government to agree to U.S. demands to bring in American citizens exposed to Ebola. Protesters say the disease is contagious and could spread rapidly in the small town, affecting many people, News.Az reports, citing Scripps News.

Demonstrators gathered near the military air base where the treatment facility is planned, saying they would not leave until the plan is stopped. The protests come after a Kenyan high court ordered last week the suspension of the plan, ruling it was not right and that the governments must wait until a court hearing is completed.
Some protesters said they saw American planes flying into the air base and equipment being deployed in the area, which they say triggered the demonstrations.

The LoR, a formal government-to-government communication under the Intergovernmental Agreement framework, is expected to be sent to France in the coming weeks, initiating negotiations for what is set to become India’s largest-ever fighter aircraft procurement programme, News.Az reports, citing India Today.
***
The development comes as Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, began a three-day visit to France on June 1. His visit coincides with India’s push to acquire the additional Rafale fighters and is being closely watched as New Delhi advances plans for one of its biggest defence purchases.
Under the proposed agreement, nearly 90 of the 114 Rafale jets will be manufactured in India through a partnership between Dassault Aviation and an Indian company under the government’s Make in India initiative. The remaining aircraft will be supplied in fly-away condition from France. Some estimates suggest that 92 aircraft could be built in India, while 22 would be delivered directly from French production facilities.
The programme is expected to feature indigenous content of nearly 50 percent, providing a major boost to India’s aerospace manufacturing ecosystem while supporting the government’s drive for self-reliance in defence production.
The acquisition is aimed at addressing the Indian Air Force’s operational readiness amid evolving regional security challenges. The Rafale is regarded as one of the world’s most advanced multi-role fighter aircraft, capable of carrying out air superiority, ground attack, reconnaissance and strategic deterrence missions.
The agreement will significantly strengthen the IAF’s combat fleet and further deepen strategic and defence ties between India and France. The project is also expected to emerge as one of the largest defence manufacturing initiatives undertaken in the country.

This was stated by sources who participated in the negotiations to DR.
The leaders of the four parties left the negotiations at the prime minister’s official residence, Marienborg, in the early evening and, according to Danish media, gave cryptic messages. According to DR, “more cryptic than usual.”
Mette Frederiksen (S) also left the residence at 7:30 p.m.
“I’m on my way to His Majesty the King,” she wrote on.
A government can only be presented after King Frederik has been informed of the political progress. However, he is not at Amalienborg Palace but in Odense.
On Monday it will be 68 days since the Danish general election.
