Christmas Celebration Turns Violent as Gunmen Storm Church in Pakistan’s Capital

A gang of six armed men reportedly invaded a church in the heavily guarded federal capital Islamabad carrying out a brazen kidnapping and subjecting the pastor and worshipers to torture during Christmas 2nd Day Commemoration. According to informed sources, the assailants forcibly seized two individuals at gunpoint before unleashing violence on the congregation.

The incident, which unfolded during a moment of religious observance, has sent shockwaves through the community and raised serious concerns about the security situation in the federal capital.

Eyewitnesses recounted a harrowing scene as the armed men stormed into the church, disrupting the Christmas 2nd Day Commemoration ceremony. The perpetrators, described as a gang of six individuals, brandished firearms and forcibly abducted two people from the premises. During the course of the attack, the pastor and other worshipers were allegedly subjected to physical torture.

Local law enforcement agencies including the Police failed to act promptly. The incident took place in the industrial area of Islamabad, the capital city, and it’s a sheer negligence of the concerned SP and other police staff.

Community leaders and religious figures have condemned the attack, expressing solidarity with the affected congregation and calling for swift justice. The incident has prompted a renewed focus on the security measures in place, especially in sensitive areas such as places of worship.

The incident serves as a somber reminder of the need for ongoing diligence and collaborative efforts to safeguard public spaces and uphold the right to practice religion without fear of violence or intimidation.

Pakistan a country that has been witnessed brazen attacks on Christians and Hindu minorities where the state is failed to protect more often. It is pertinent to mention here that in August this year at least 26 Churches set on fire in Jaranwala a small-town of Punjab.
