Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has openly opposed Kyiv’s bid to join the European Union creating a rift in the European diplomatic circles.

Orban’s stance on Ukraine’s accession has not only strained relations within the EU but has also raised concerns about the bloc’s unity in dealing with geopolitical challenges in Eastern Europe.

The Hungarian Prime Minister cited issues related to the treatment of Hungarian minorities in Ukraine and questioned the country’s commitment to democratic principles. These remarks have fueled tensions between Hungary and Ukraine, adding a new layer of complexity to an already delicate situation.
