President Ilham Aliyev has announced that Azerbaijan will hold snap presidential elections in 2024, a year before his fourth term as president ends.

On Thursday, Aliyev announced that the elections will be held on 7 February 2024. Aliyev has served as Azerbaijan’s president since October 2003.
