ECHR finds Yerevan responsible for Armenian military crimes in Garabagh


On 18 October, the European Court of Human Rights announced a ruling in the case “Hovhannesian and Karapetyan v. Armenia”. The applicants in the case were Armenian citizens Mikayel Hovhannisyan and Svetlana Karapetyan, whose sons R. Hovhannisyan and A. Sargsyan were killed while serving in Garabagh. Both soldiers were conscripted from Armenia in 2009 and 2008 and sent to serve in a military unit located in Garabagh, then occupied by Armenia, Azernews reports.

Azerbaijan, UK discuss military cooperation


Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland have held 6th Staff talks, according to Azerbaijan in Focus, reporting AzerTac, citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense.

The meeting held at the Azerbaijan Defense Ministry’s International Military Cooperation Department discussed security issues, the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral military cooperation.

Discussions also revolved around the issues in the humanitarian sphere, as well as the contribution to the upcoming exercises and training on mine clearance. The sides expressed confidence that joint military cooperation will continue to be beneficial for both parties.

Then the guests visited one of the military units. A briefing and video on the military unit’s establishment history and main activities were presented to the delegation.

Following the meeting with the servicemen, who participated in the courses organized by the UK, the parties exchanged gifts.

Azerbaijani, Turkish special Forces demonstrate high professionalism during training for joint tactical exercises


During the training for “Mustafa Kemal Ataturk-2023” joint tactical exercises to be held in Azerbaijan, the special forces of Azerbaijan and Türkiye have demonstrated high professionalism, according to Azerbaijan in Focus, reporting AzerTac, citing the Ministry of Defense.

“In the course of the next training for joint exercises, the Special Forces were put on alert in accordance with the assigned task and fulfilled various actions using protective features of the terrain and camouflage means.

Overcoming obstacles that may arise on the battlefield, the group conducted a sudden assault on an imaginary enemy’s deployment point according to the plan. The enemy’s command and control points and communications centers were incapacitated, its manpower was neutralized.

The training for “Mustafa Kemal Ataturk-2023” joint tactical exercises continues,” the ministry said.
