Shogher Shanoian Assumes Role as Interim Principal of Merdinian School

Shogher Shanoian has assumed the role of interim principal of C. & E. Merdinian Evangelical School, effective immediately. 

In a unanimous decision at a special Board meeting held on June 12, the Merdinian Board of Directors appointed Shanoian to begin serving in her new role on July 1. 

“We are excited to see Mrs. Shanoian step into this important leadership role for our school,”  said Nerses Aposhian, Board Chairman at Merdinian School. “Mrs. Shanoian and her administrative team will build on the successes and growth achieved in the last two years, including advancing Merdinian’s curriculum, developing the teaching staff, improving facilities, and growing our school. She has been a steadfast advocate for our students and faculty and demonstrated a lifelong passion for Christian Armenian education.” 

Shanoian holds a master of science in education from California Baptist University and a bachelor of science in business administration, management, and organization from California State University, Fresno. 

Shanoian is a dedicated member of the Armenian Evangelical community and has held numerous leadership positions at Merdinian for more than seven years, most recently in the role of director of student affairs. Her commitment to the school spans decades as an alumna and as the parent of an alumnus and two current students. Known as one of the most collaborative members of the Merdinian community among Merdinian faculty and staff, Shanoian has worked hard to create a positive and inclusive campus environment. As an integral member of the Merdinian community, Shanoian will continue to uphold the mission of and advance the school’s vision. 

Located in Sherman Oaks, CA, the C. & E. Merdinian Armenian Evangelical School is committed to providing an academically and spiritually invigorating education for its entire preschool through 8th grade student body in a safe, caring, and nurturing environment.
