“I am proud to have represented the Turkish Cypriot people at the Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Shusha at the invitation of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The strength of the Turkic world lies in unity,” said President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ersin Tatar as he commented on the results of his visit to Azerbaijan at a briefing held in Nicosia on Sunday, according to Azerbaijan in Focus, reporting AzerTac.
President Ersin Tatar expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijan for the special attention and hospitality shown to them. “Representatives of the TRNC were received in Azerbaijan in accordance with the state protocol, which took place only in Türkiye before. I am grateful to President Ilham Aliyev, as well as to everyone, who participated in the organization of the Summit in Shusha,” he noted.
The President of Northern Cyprus hailed his visit to the city of Khankendi, which was liberated from occupation.
“Our goal is overall development of relations within the OTS. I was delighted to see the flag of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus waving in Shusha,” President Ersin Tatar mentioned.
“The development of relations with the Turkic states significantly contributes to the strengthening of the positions of the Turkish Cypriots and establishing justice in Cyprus under the principle of “two states,” the President of Northern Cyprus emphasized.
