Armenia is fully ready for the normalization of relations with Turkey and Armenia’s approach to the issue has not changed since the beginning of the process, Vice-President of the Armenian National Assembly, Armenia’s Special Envoy for normalization of relations with Turkey said in an interview with Turkish NTV.
“We expect a complete normalization of relations with Turkey, which includes reestablishment of diplomatic relations and unblocking of Armenia’s land border,” Rubinyan said, Ermenihaber informs.
The Armenian envoy once again emphasized that Armenia is ready for the normalization of relations without any preconditions.
According to Rubinyan, Armenia is ready for the opening of the border with Turkey, Armenia is ready for a complete normalization yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and if Turkey has the same political will, this will be implemented very quickly.
According to Rubinyan, Armenia is waiting for Turkey to make a step in the matter. In this context, he emphasized that on the Armenian side, the Margara checkpoint has been renovated and brought into operational condition, and the same is expected from the Turkish partners. An agreement was also reached to repair or reconstruct the bridge on the border.
“The most important agreement to date has been the opening of the border to third-country citizens and holders of diplomatic passports, which was achieved in 2022,” Rubinyan concluded.
