President-elect Donald Trump came within millimeters of losing his life to an assassin’s bullet on July 13th in Butler, Pennsylvania, just two days before the Republican National Convention was set to kick off in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At the time, President-elect Trump had not announced a running mate, leading to a moment that could have thrown the party and country into utter chaos. The week culminated in the President-elect selecting Republican Ohio Senator J.D. Vance as his running mate and delivering one of the most memorable speeches of his political career to accept the nomination. Just over a month after what most would describe as a disastrous debate performance, President Biden bowed out of his re-election bid and subsequently endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him.
