Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova criticized Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s remarks regarding the country’s choice between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the European Union.
According to her, the Armenian prime minister’s statements lack any specifics and amount to “verbal acrobatics” intended to mislead the country’s citizens. Zakharova recalled that EAEU leaders had posed very clear questions to Yerevan on May 29, but have yet to receive answers.
She also stressed that official Yerevan’s reasoning remains unclear to its partners, adding that, even by basic common-sense standards, the authorities should first seek the opinion of their own people before taking such steps.
