A rare Nanotyrannus skeleton known as “Jodi” sold for more than $47 million at a Sotheby’s auction in New York on Tuesday, far exceeding its estimated value of $6 million to $9 million.
The sale made Jodi the second-most expensive dinosaur fossil ever sold at auction, according to Sotheby’s.
