Orange County’s first Armenian Genocide memorial will be built in the Heart of the Park area of Irvine, CA.
The project is being led by the OC AGMC. At the center of the memorial will be a bronze sculpture of a mother & young child surrounded by cranes in flight. The mother & child symbolize protection, survival & the continuity of generations, while the cranes represent remembrance and the enduring connection to the homeland.
Ryan, the sculptor behind the project, is an award-winning artist based in Southern California. He is currently also creating the Laguna Hills Marine Corps Memorial.
