British Prime Minister Andy Burnham says it is “highly likely” that a suspected plot targeting RAF Fairford was coordinated in Iran and almost certainly directed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Five British men were arrested near the southwest England air base on 27 September on suspicion of terrorism and explosives offences but were later released on police bail. Iran has denied any involvement and called on Britain to provide evidence supporting the allegation. The base had been used by U.S. bombers for strikes on Iran before the aircraft were withdrawn amid security concerns.
