U.S. President Donald Trump said Ukraine and Russia had agreed to an immediate “energy ceasefire”, but gave no details about its terms. Moscow did not immediately confirm the announcement. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the announcement surprised him, but Ukraine would agree if Russia did. He added that Kyiv was awaiting details from Washington. Zelenskyy also said he had discussed the announcement with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
