The United States has removed its B-1 bombers from RAF Fairford in the UK, one week after several men were arrested near the base on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts. A dozen B-1 bombers had been stationed at RAF Fairford and had been used in U.S. strikes on Iran. The Pentagon said all the bombers are now in the United States. The move comes after UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham said Britain had “strong indications” of Iranian involvement in a suspected plot targeting the base. Iran has rejected the accusation as baseless.
