Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will fly on Monday to Washington, DC, where he will meet US President Donald Trump and attend the funeral of the late US senator Lindsey Graham, Report informs referring to The Times of Israel.
The meeting with Trump will take place on Tuesday, as will the service for Graham, a Republican and stalwart supporter of Israel.
The Netanyahu-Trump meeting, the first face-to-face meeting between the two leaders since February and the start of the Iran war, comes amid an escalation in fighting between the US and Iran, with Israel on alert for the possibility that Tehran will decide to expand its strikes and attack Israel.
The Prime Minister’s Office does not indicate when he will be returning to Israel.
