Heavy rainfall across central and southern Chile has killed 13 people, left 7 missing and displaced more than 2,200 residents, while consequent flooding damaged thousands of homes, leaving around 87,000 people without electricity. Schools in several municipalities remained closed as authorities warn that weakened rivers and waterways still pose a risk of further flooding.
