Azerbaijan plans to integrate national costume into modern fashion

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture has held discussions on preserving traditional national attire and integrating its elements into contemporary fashion, Report informs.

At the meeting, officials addressed the need to maintain historical, artistic, and semantic characteristics during the styling process. Discussions also highlighted bringing elements of the national costume back into everyday life, supporting local brand development, and expanding mass production capabilities, the ministry said.

Officials noted that traditional attire should serve not merely as museum exhibits, but as an active component of daily life and the modern creative industry.

The initiative is being implemented within the Azerbaijan Culture – 2040 Concept, which provides for the development of the creative economy, the preservation of cultural heritage, and its integration into modern creative industries.
