The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed carrying out a strike in the Nabatieh al-Fawqa area in southern Lebanon this afternoon, saying it targeted suspects approaching Israel’s buffer zone, Report informs via The Times of Israel.
The strike on a car in the area killed four people, according to Lebanese media.
The military says it identified a car with four suspects in it approaching the south Lebanon security zone.
The suspects “posed a threat to IDF soldiers,” and they were then targeted by the Israeli Air Force, the IDF says.
The Lebanese health ministry identifies the victims as school principal Esperanza Ghandour, her mother, a female domestic worker and a male foreign labourer.
