“This (Khankendi) is our historical land, and I am confident that there is no one in Azerbaijan who is unaware of this. The world also knows that the city of Khankendi has been an ancient settlement of Azerbaijan, and its name reflects this—Khan’s village,” stated President Ilham Aliyev during his meeting with the teaching staff and students of Garabagh University, Azernews reports.
